Ever since he parachuted to mystery on the night of November 24, 1971, the world has sought the identity of skyjacker D.B. Cooper. Despite pirating $200,000 dollars from Northwest Airlines, he quickly became a folk hero. For his daredevil crime and cool, smooth manner he was hailed as the “Jesse James of the Jet Age.”
For weeks an intensive search combed the dense forests where he was believed to have jumped. No sign of a discarded parachute or remains of his body were ever found, leading to the belief he survived. The FBI searched for every missing person who resembled the witnesses’ composite of the skyjacker who called himself Dan Cooper. His true identity was never uncovered.
The purpose of this section of Quester Files is to facilitate the identification of D.B. Cooper.
